When a student trains, one is required to leave all their problems at the door, or more appropriately, the black line enclosing the training area, and focus only on what they’re learning and its practice. The instructors take what they teach with pride and seriousness. While Hong Luck is a friendly and accepting environment, during a class students are expected to train with seriousness.

Many people ask how long it will take them to advance at Hong Luck.

The guiding principles of nature and the earth are such that things are not fixed. The beauty of the variety in nature is also present in humanity. Kung Fu is for everyone, but people are born with varying degrees of talent and will. Progress at Hong Luck depends solely on the student. If one tries hard and attends classes frequently and regularly, one will advance as quickly as talent permits. Grandmaster Chan and the other instructors do not discriminate, and Hong Luck cannot make any guarantees as to a student’s level of progress.
